sorority expensev

by: KeKe

There is a freshman KD whose parents rent a small house in a small town close to Jackson. The housing cost that KDs have to pay is outrageous! I’m not sure she will be able to keep up with the cost of sorority life with her limited funds. Do other sororities check to make sure candidates can afford the costs? I wish there was a pre-recruitment statement to sign before rush starts agreeing that a person understands the costs. What a huge waste of s bid.

I would like to believe that your post is done with nothing but concern and love for this girl. However, let’s be real! There was no need to try and specifically point out this person. Not only that, it’s none of your business what she can and can’t afford. Ever thought about the fact that maybe her parents rent a small house so they can afford for her to go to college? What if her parents aren’t materialistic and don’t care about their house or cars they drive? Even better maybe she’s saved every single dime she’s ever made or been given for college.
While I do agree with you on a prerecruitment statement regarding cost would be beneficial, I think you should worry about paying your own bills before blasting an unknown narrative on gossip site!

There is a spreadsheet on pan website and the cost is discussed in the parent meeting. Everyone should be well aware of the cost.

If all your family can afford is a rental, why pay $2000 a semester on the required house note for dues. It sounds like the family is living beyond their means and can’t afford the daughter to be in a sorority. After three years, at about $5000 a year in sorority costs, my family has spent $15,000 on my Greek life. We own our house. I can’t imagine using $15,000 to be Greek when we could use that to buy a home instead of renting. Desperate times for that family.

I know a couple of girls in my sorority who work to pay their own dues. I know another girl whose older sister pays her dues. Stop judging other people.

It’s not judging if someone can’t afgord the dues. It makes the girls who aren’t as connected and therefore did poorly at rush mad! Most of them probably could afford dues. It shows how ditzy this girl is. Sorry but it’s true!

You have NO clue what someone can and can’t afford! You also have no clue the different reasons someone might rent over buying.... not to mention ITS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS! Just stop!

Nah! It’s a joke that someone thinks that renting a house cheap yet paying a house note every semester makes any kids nd of sense needs to learn business practices. They look foolish!
