difference between top and bottom houses?
by: WonderingThere’s a lot of things on here about top vs bottom houses. What’s the difference? Will I have a better experience in a top house if I rush a top house?

no! rankings are so irrelevant and you will have the best experience in a house where you feel comfortable and relate to the girls the most. rushing a “top” house just because they’re considered top won’t bring you real friendships, and no one is going to look down on you for being in a “bottom” house especially if you love it and build strong relationships with your sisters

everyone who responds and lists the houses that are supposed to be "top" are all just trying to give a false impression that there are top and bottom houses. In fact, there's no such thing because everything is subjective and it really just matters where you feel at home and most wanted. If you go into rush with that in mind you will be fine.

First off, I love the house I'm in, but being in a "bottom" house has its disadvantages. Everyone will have a different experience but here is mine. The comment above joking about "not getting a husband" isn't completely false. There have been boys that I've come across who prefer dating girls in the top 3, and won't consider girls in other houses, but a majority of guys don't care. It can also be harder to get involved on campus when organizations require interviews. A lot of on campus groups are run by Chi O and KD. This is awesome for their girls, but for the rest of us, it's heartbreaking at times knowing that the letters we wear don't hold as much weight as the friendships these girls have made amongst their sisters. They will choose their sisters to be in their organization 9 times out of 10. Other than these two things, I truly cannot think of a difference in the tiers, and I have friends in every house. If you happen to get in a house that isn't "top" based on Mississippi standards, you will still have the time of your life. I know I have!

You jealous? After my college years, I’m marrying my rich boyfriend who is from Madison. I will live in a big house in Reunion and I will write for the newspaper since I have my communications degree. I won’t have to work - trust fund!! Perfect life! You sound like you are jealous of our life!
