What was the reason for Zeta’s decline several years ago? Why was rush done differently for them last year?

My Aunt told me that zeta had some non-.supportive alums! They did better but it was due to staggered quota.

Zeta was really strong when my mom was here in the late 1980’s. A good friend of hers was a Zeta and did a rec for me but said she hated how her chapter had changed over the years. She thinks that when the Ole Miss Zeta chapter closed in the 1990’s it had a negative effect on the chapter here.

I think a big part is just that it’s the only chapter in the state. I knew multiple alums from the big 3, but none from Zeta in my hometown. KD, DG, and Chi O are strong at all three big universities. Also why ADPi opened Ole Miss chapter shortly afterwards.

Really? The main point is true. No other chapters of Zeta in state. But there are multiple other ones. And DG is 3rd or 4th at southern depending who you ask.

Why are you an expert on DG? Are you one? No one at southern thinks DG is 3 or 4. They are about 4 or 5 depending on how well Phi Mu does at USM. That is a fact. Look at their Greek Rank.

I’m the OP who made the original KD, Chi O, and DG comment... why are you concerned about DG when this is about Zeta? Even if DG is 5th at USM, point still stands they are relatively strong in state chapters and Zeta only has one. So 1 chapter = lower chance of alum in your MS hometown = less of a chance for a rec/preferring a house with alums you know. Nothing wrong with Zeta, just not “MS strong.”
