question about sigma chi

by:

Yesterday, Derby Daddy named all the corporate sponsors for Catch A Dream fundraiser. The only sorority announced in the lengthy list was Kappa Delta. Does that mean they made a significant donation that they became a corporate sponsor? All sororities donated money but were not listed. I’m thinking their donation must have been HUGE for them to become a corporate sponsor. IRONICALLY, KAPPA DELTA WON DERBY DAYS! If huge donations are what “helps” you win, just do away with the rest of the competition. I severely neglected my studies to practice our dance and paint a banner. There are plenty of wealthy parents of girls in my sorority that can donate money to become sponsors. Let’s be honest about how the funds are raised instead of continuing this joke called Derby Days.

This is getting out of hand. If you truly believe that Sigma Chi would CHEAT to let KD win, then you need to make a formal complaint instead of repeatedly posting your theory on here. I'm sure MSU and Sigma Chi nationals would investigate this and let you know the answer. Please post on here when the full investigation has been completed. Meanwhile, stop trying to put down my friends who work very, very hard and practice basketball, then practice dances for hours and hours and hours, then create beautiful banners. The sororitys that placed put in very long hours and worked very hard to get 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, and from what I saw that includes KD. Their banner is great, their dance was great, and they played basketball great. If they were going to win because of some "large donation" why would they work so hard and practice so hard? So please make your formal complaint to Sigma Chi nationals and MSU and see what comes of it. I'm not in one of the sororitys that got 1,2 or 3 overall but I am sick of hearing this rumor for my good friends in these sororitys that work their butts off getting ready for Derby Days.

The question the OP asked isn’t about cheating. It’s asking about how to become a corporate sponsor. I would like to know that, too. But if the question were asked publicly, the asker would be condemned by sigma chi and KD alums. It is a good question. Why not donate in name only and not as Kappa Delta. No other group does that and to me it seems like it’s a conflict of interest to donate large sums when that sorority is competing with others.

Oh I'm sure Sigma Chi and "Catch a Dream" would LOVE more corporate sponsors. You really should look into that and do it - it would be great or the charity and for Sigma Chi.
