spring frat parties
by: EmilyI am a junior girl. I have a lot of guy friends in fraternities at State. I am planning on going there and rushing. Why do mothers and alumni tell me and my friends that we should not attend these parties during our junior year? I feel like they can’t tell us how to live. I have enough friends there that they will help me out during rush. Opinions on this please!

If you don't want to listen to their good advice then just go anyways. It doesn't hurt anyone but yourself.
It just simply doesn't look good if a junior in high school is at a college frat party. This may not make sense to you now but it will in a few years. While some people may not care, there are a lot of people who do care and they will make sure other people know about it when you go through rush. SO many girls rush and sororities are always looking for reasons to cut girls since they have to cut so many. So seeing that you went to frat parties junior year of high school for fun with your fraternity friends is kind of a red flag and they will not hesitate to cut you to make room for other girls who did normal high school things on the weekends and have a good GPA and resume and personality at the same time.
You will have 4 years to go to frat parties. Enjoy high school while you're in high school because you will never get that time back. And then enjoy college while you're in college. It seriously flies by...I feel like I got here yesterday but I feel like I'm graduating tomorrow at the same time. Just enjoy where you are now, and in this case it will help you be able to enjoy where you are in college because sororities won't have that reason to cut you.
Also I'm pretty sure high schoolers going to fraternity parties at MSU is like not a thing anymore..so do whatever you want with that information
