rec letters

by: Lala

I am a pnm for fall 2018 and am currently trying to find people to write rec letters for me. I have a few who know me/my family, but I don't come from a family that was previously involved in Greek life so most of my recs will be from women who don't necessarily know me but I'll set up something with them at Starbucks to meet. One of my hs friends (sorority girl in college right now) told me those recs won't carry any weight unless the rec comes from someone who know me/my family really well and they are an alum of Miss State. Is that true? I am coming from far OOS, if that matters at all. Thanks

I would recommend getting 2 recs per sorority. One from a local alum in your town, and one from a MSU alum. If you can't, it's ok, but that covers your bases. Ask people in your church, your teachers, you will be surprised at the number of women who were in sororities that you never knew about. Good luck!
