There is never to be any alcohol in the sorority houses or on their property. You can get in serious trouble with the university and your nationals if its found. Every sorority has girls that drink, girls that drink too much, and girls that don't drink, just don't do it anywhere near the houses. You also get in a lot of trouble if you are underage and caught with alcohol at a function/or get in any legal trouble with it (MIPs).

From what I have heard each sorority's national has an alcohol education program that all new members must complete. Many sororities require members to ride shuttle buses to and from swaps, date parties and formals/semi-formals or they provide designated drivers for members.

the why are all of the facebook pictures of sorority girls holding drink cups EVERYWHERE?

As they said above some sorority members drink. Posting pictures on Facebook with drink glasses and beer bottles is tacky in my opinion. Some girls don't care. My biggest issue is Facebook pictures of girls who everyone knows are under 21 with drinks/bottles. Posting those type of pictures is plain stupid. Some girls do a better job of hiding drinks in photos than others.

@alcohol said they're not supposed to drink at the house/underage at their functions. Not that they couldn't do it a fraternity parties or whatever else. It's not a no drinking policy, it's a no drinking at specific places/events policy.

sends girls to standards for alcohol violations (getting way too intoxicated, drinking underage, or posting pictures with alcoholic beverages). Three times to standards and you're out (or have to perform an alcohol safety class).
