Your best option is to wait and see how recruitment goes for you and where you feel the most comfortable. All sororities at MSU are very strong and are well respected chapters. It is also crucial to remember that not only are you choosing a sorority but the sorority members are choosing too. The largest sororities can be very selective during recruitment and make larger cuts than other groups. Not trying to make you nervous but going into recruitment with your heart set on one or two groups can often result in big disappointment. Three houses, not just two are consistently strong at State: DG, Chi O and KD.

open mind. You may not get what you think you want and you may end up not wanting what you thought you would. Chi O consistently has the best grades and has all different types of girls. DG has gotten a bad rep lately for their lack of greek unity, but I know lots of girls that love DG. KD is another top house and those girls are nice as well. Talk to anyone and they will tell you that their house is best. Choose what is best for you and hope they choose you back!

are on the inside of a sorority you don't see what others see. DG plays dirty when it comes to competitions and fight and struggle so hard to be the best, but only wind up looking bad. Poor decisions by exec are ruining them. They are a number 3 house at best and falling fast!

^this. Everyone needs to be be supportive of everyone. A girl I went to school with told me all my senior year how much I should hate certain houses and I ended up loving them and having a lot of friends in them and pledging one of them. Turns out she was bitter against them because she liked them during rush. I can never advocate discouraging a girl from pledging any house. I think everyone ends up where they are suppose to. If I have to make her like my house by telling her reasons to not like others then I'm not doing enough for my own group.

So are you saying that either Chi O or DG is not a top 5 house??? That is laughable. They are two of the top three houses on campus along with KD. Phi Mu and DDD have improved rounding out the top 5 houses.

must be the person that keeps hating on the Delta. On another thread someone blasted Delta girls for normally going to certain houses. Some of our best members are from the Delta, multiple towns, and I assure you....MANY girls have a hard time picking between the 3 or 4 top houses. We cross rush every girl. Almost every girl in the last couple of our pledge classes pref'd us, KD and DG.

There was another thread where someone FROM the delta actually said they themselves mostly go DG or Chi O and are talked about back home if they don't.( you can read it) Of course Chi O and DG are great houses for certain personalities as are ALL the others.I think it is sad that you all feel the need to "rank" at all. Just being a part of a group you feel fits your personality should be enough. It is so dumb to say that a girl needs to join "our group" because we are the best.....best for who? and best at what? so what if you have more members involved around campus....what matters is a girl finding lasting friendships.Not the number of girls in the group, or the grades they make or the clubs they join. Simply saying, Do not go in thinking you only want one of those 2..you just might like and fit into 1 of the ones considered a top 5......or 6....or 7....or 8...BE OPEN. They are all great houses!

It really bothers me that everyone says Greek unity but will still turn on one house. I'm not saying DG has been guiltless here, but you can't preach Greek unity and then bash a house to a pnm. Hypocritical. And honestly, its not too late for them to turn this year around and make some changes (mainly with advisors). But it is wrong to discourage a girl from joining ANY house because all are great and have lots to offer.
