gpa requirments

by:

I'm going into State with a 2.91 GPA due to a bunch of personal issues. Will I be accepted by a sorority ? What are the pledge GPA requirments for each sorority ?

A safe GPA for most sororitys is 3.0, however, high GPA sororitys have higher cut off unless they really want you.
I hope you know some people and can really shine during recruitment! You likely will face big cuts on day 1 unless you have really good connections.
Good luck to you, I am sure you will find a house that's a great fit for you :-)

I can't speak for every sorority but my sorority will only give a bid to one girl with below a 3.0 gpa who is not a legacy and one that is a legacy. We are very strict on this and there is no way around it.

Okay so you honestly have a higher chance of getting dropped due to your GPA. For recruitment you are considered in the risk zone. What I would do is talk to your gamma chi on the rush orientation. Explain your issues and ask what to do. She'll give you great advice, and follow what she says! I was GPA risk too, but still got a bid. Just keep your head up and whatever happens happens. If you find end up getting a bid you can always pull up your grades and rush the next semester!

If they want you bad enough they will give you a bid.

Night one when we go down the list of girls and have to cut hundreds the first people we put up for release is anyone who's GPA starts with a 2. We don't know your reasons and honestly don't care that much, because college is even harder and personal reasons even tougher. You can rush but be prepared to have very limited options, but also know they are great houses and if you get a bid you're very lucky. You can go into college and show you can make the grades and then rush in the spring or as a sophomore, but the houses that regularly take a spring PC or upperclassmen are probably the ones that would still take you with a 2.9 anyway.

Depends on where you went to school. Some school the kids will have a 4 point and can't pass. Others who went to better private schools may have a 2.75 and do great in college.
