Do you regret the house you pledged? Did you not get the house you wanted and was it a positive or negative experience?

Wished I had dropped and transferred instead pledged and became initiated Now inactive and can't rush again at another school. Such is life.

I regret not behaving in high school, gossiping about older girls that became sorority members, drinking like a fish my junior year, and sleeping around in HS. All in all, I was arrogant and thought no one knew or cared what I did in HS. I was going to get the sorority I wanted. It didn't work out. I was cut from a lot and convinced by my gamma chi to pledge a group I had nothing in common with. I dropped.
If I could live HS again, I'd be a different person.

I was a good girl in high school, very good girl. I was a Goody-Two Shoes I ended up in the sorority that parties the hardest. I regret it. I never fit in. I was bullied and gossipped about for things I didn't do. It was awful. I should not have pledged and re-rushed in the fall and hoped for a different result. I dropped and I am so happy. I am focusing on things that make me happy and things that will actually help me with my future career.

I rushed because I was OOS and I hoped it would make me friends. I liked the philanthropy of one house going in, and decided that I wanted to pledge there. However, my GPA and clean rep wasn't enough to keep me on that house's list without rec letters (I didn't understand how important rec letters were) I was okay with the house I pledged, but I realized that if I would've dropped out of rush and tried again the next year, I probably would've been happier. Sometimes you just don't click with a house and you never click with that house, even as much as you try to force it. Sometimes I wonder why the house I pledged chose to give me a bid. I really don't fit in there.

I was from oos and had a good resume but knew no one at state. I fell in love with a few houses but because I didn't have in house connections I was cut. I don't regret staying with the house I am in now, but I wish I would have been more prepared about the fact that not having connections will get you cut from the so called top three. I wanted to give my house a chance though and I'm thankful I did! I have made amazing friends and I realized that your sorority letters don't define you. Outside of this site, no one cares about tiers. No one thinks they are better or worse than you depending on your sorority. Every house has over 200 girls so I promise you will find someone you click with. Do not drop because you didn't get the house you wanted. I never would've thought I'd be wearing the letters that I do today, but because I gave it a chance, I now wear them with pride!

i ended up getting a bid from a house that i wasn't so sure about, and i honestly considered dropping, but my gamma chi asked me to give the house a chance. so i did, and it was the best decision i could have ever made. i know it sounds cliche when people say to trust the system, but i did, and i don't regret anything.
