how does rush work
by: St8I would love to rush! I'm just not sure how the whole process works! I've heard people say you get dropped from houses, how do you find out what houses dropped you and which ones didn't? Also what do you do each day of rush?

You get a list at the beginning of everyday when you meet with your gamma chi groups. It will tell you which houses you go to and at what time. If a house drops you, it won't be on the list in the morning. As far as what you do, you just go in each house on the list at your designated time. The girls will sing songs as you walk in then you sit. A few girls will talk to you over the course of about 15-30 minutes. The time gets longer each day. These are called parties. Once you finish all of your parties for the day, you will go to the union to make your picks of the houses you like. This is called selection. Not many girls get totally cut from everything if that makes you feel better!

Except all houses are closer than you think now a days. No house will take 150 people. So Chi O will take about 70, DG and KD 80-90, Phi Mu Tri Delt Pi Phi and Zeta 90-110, ADPi 120. Those are just estimates. Also that's the ranking of houses in GPA too, which is interesting.

Well the above post is correct about a lot. When you go to the union every day you select your bottom two. This does not mean you won't go back to them. Variable quota is requiring smaller houses to take bigger pledge classes. For example if you didn't like Pi Phi and KD and ranked them last. Most likely you would still get invited back to Pi Phi which may take 150 girls and not KD which may take 75 girls.
You really have no opinion on who invites you. You are being judged on your appearance, connection with girls you meet, and resume. You will have been prejudged based on application and recs. Go with open mind and see if you find a place where you belong
