rushing as a junior
by: M_1997I'm transferring from a community college in the fall as a junior! I would love to rush, but I am scared I won't get a bid. I have a 4.0 GPA and I am in Phi Thetta Kappa. I guess I am most worried about me not being a legacy. Neither my parents nor my sisters rushed. But I want to meet new people! How likely is it that I will get a bid? Is there anything I can do to ensure one?

I say why not! If your grades are good then you are at least bound to stay for the 2nd day of rush. Just make sure you stand out. If you're only going to be with them for 2 years they're gonna want to make sure you can contribute to them those 2 years (i.e. grades, involvement, personality). So just make sure you look like you want to be there in ALL of the houses' parties you go to and try and leave an impression on the girls you talk to. Good luck!!!

Many upperclassmen go through recruitment so please rush! My sorority is very accepting of sophomores and juniors especially considering your high gpa. There will be some houses that only want freshman but I know that 4 of our houses here offer bids to juniors every year!
