kd mothers
by: StephanieI am a member ina top sorority here and it's not KD. I recently overheard (at my job) some adult mothers where I live discussing how influenced KDs rush is by mothers that are alums. Like they sit down with the junior and senior girls and tell them "this girl's mother causes trouble because she didn't bake the brownies we asked for so her daughter will not be a KD." I'm so upset that parents interfere with rush this way. I had no idea this goes on behind close doors. I thought the current members had the most influence on voting who gets in. My sorority does. Do other sororities allow this much parental interference? I say to the Greek system, cut these busy body alumni off. No adult needs to interfere in a young college girl's social life. I'm so disappointed in moms like this.

I'm positive it's true. I heard straight from a senior who agreed to negatively discuss a PNM during cut discussions. An alum mother suggested that they better cut certain girls from her hometown. She would exaggerate things about girls too.
