reasons to not get a bid
by: OPActives in Middle Tier- what are some of the reasons an oos pnm doesn't get invited back during recruitment? In no way being rude, but I'm very oos with no connections, so I've already written off xo, dg and kd since they mostly take ms or other southern girls. TIA

TALK! Be VERY nice and engaged in each house! That will make a HUGE difference. Make sure to connect with the girl who is in the house talking to you. She will report back. If she likes you, your chances go WAY up. You must make a very good impression and it's VERY important that you act like you REALLY WANT to be there and you love their house and you want to be in THAT sorority. If you act bored, you will be cut. They want girls who want THEM.

You have to be strategic in your rankings after Day 1. Day 1 is grade cuts so if you are above the GPA you may be invited back to a top house round 2 and then on the list to get dropped Day 2. If you are sure you are not getting a bid there drop them Day 1. If you rank them high then you get dropped from another house Day 1 that you ranked lowered.
Do not give houses bragging rights for Day 1 100% return rates. Rank them # 8 and move on. You will land where you want to be and have a little control..

I had a 3.5 GPA, tons of involvement in the community, sports in HS, clean rep/social media, am fit and attractive and had good conversations at houses, but was still dropped from middle tier houses. And I have no idea why. Honestly, most PNMs come in with over 3.3 GPA, are somewhat attractive and either held leadership roles or played sports in HS. So no idea how they choose who is kept and who is cut. I wish there was more upfront honesty about it. I thought I had a great rush until BAM I was cut from almost every house after Day 1. It would have been easier for me to come to terms if I didn't have good conversations and they instead stuck me with a dud rusher so I had a heads up.
