to those who dropped...

First thanks for asking. I went thru the first 3 nights. On night 3 I had 4 houses. One I loved, was a legacy and knew this would be my home. I had 2 I really really really liked and one I hated. When I got my pref schedule I had one I liked and the one I hated. Was told I had tonlist both houses on pref card and if the one I hated was the one I got then I was financially obligated for the next year.. I could not see myself pledging that house and got bad info so I just dropped. If I knew then what I know now I would have suicide for the house I liked but a year has passed and I am just as happy not being Greek.
You will notice I didn't mention top or bottom houses because I think the ranks are stupid. The house I didn't like just tried to sell me a crock of crap and came off really fake and I just couldn't commit to something so phony.

I went into rush with an open mind and ended up getting a house that wasn't my first pick, but I still liked. I was just happy to be in a sorority honestly.
After a few months of being there, I hadn't made many friends. It became clear to me that I didn't fit in there. I assume that I got a bid to that house because I was "pretty", which this house is apparently known for having pretty girls. I tried to talk with my sisters, but I felt like a lot of them weren't receptive to me. Eventually I quit the second semester because I wasn't going to waste thousands of $$$s on a house that only offered me a bid to uphold their reputation.
Sad, but I'm better off not being Greek. In retrospect, a lot of my "sisters" were actually really mean and catty. They were so cliquish and not at all how they portrayed themselves to be during rush!
