Chi o will have less this fall. The girl who had her stomach pumped after formal due to alcohol poisoning won't be back. The girl that assaulted the policeman during an investigation won't be back. The girls that stole the liquor from the bar during all of this won't be back. The party chairman won't be back! Enjoy your accomplishments chi o!

It will not hurt their recruitment plus doubtful they will get in any trouble. Politics....

Don't expect Chi O to be tarnished by some of their girls actions. Ms State chapter is one of the top chapters in the country - they aren't that strong everywhere. I doubt they will get in any trouble because of that and they are well loved at the university level so. I agree with SO.

Hey chi o! Yea-- y'all messed up! You will probably will meet quota but others will look to one if the other sororities for leadership now. We all get caught! It's just your turn to be bad.

Process last year was flawed because it was poorly explained to both actives and PMN. Everyone should be aware this round and set expectations based on the new system. Pledge classes will be about the same size as last year. The leveling off will be seen in about two more years. Chi -O still has a couple of years with large pledge classes on the books. Keep an open mind or you will experience heart break.

It was not poorly explained at all. Some people just chose to ignore it and think they were "too good " to consider the least popular ( by MS standards - not by SEC standards ) sororities. We have 8 great sororities on campus and if we continue to grow , possibly another one might come on. All this negativity durrounding variable quota just makes us sound like bratty, petty sorority girls instead of educated soon to be professional young women

It was not explained well at all. The actives rushing girls didn't know clearly what was going on.?

I don't understand- what wasn't explained? I keep reading they were tricked, it was confusing, etc but I still have no idea what any one is talking about. Can someone actually says what happened/what went wrong?

My chapter explained it well. We had to make huge cuts and it was extremely hard. We sure didn't enjoy it but we understood the reason for variable quota.

Gamma Chi'S straight up told lies. You had to go to every party. Even to the houses that girls thought they had cut for 3 nights. After much explaining yeah I know PNM rank not cut, but I didn't know that then. You had to accept a bid and were financially responsible if you signed pref cards. This was a lie. We had no clue that all houses did not have the same quotas as they had previous years.

Would have probably dropped if I had known the truth and just went back to JUCO grades certainly would have been better. Instead suffered a miserable year and transferred in May. Peace out State.

But the PNMs were not let in on the secret AT ALL! Show us where this time last summer this type of rush was explained at all.

What secret????

Exactly. What secret? Nothing was a secret. After releases are made by the sororities for grades and reputation concerns, all the resumes left look the same - good grades, involvement, community service etc. I'm in one of the what some say is a lower sorority and very happy to be there. We didn't take the amount of quota that we could have. If you get a house, be thankful. You are owed nothing and you are not too good for any house. You were obviously not listening during Panhellenic meeting because they did nothing wrong. I'm sorry you didn't get the house you wanted but you were not cheated.

Why did KD have so many drop and Phi Mu? Can their members or the girls they are rushing not afford it? Look at ZTA...1/4 of the chapter dropped along with Pi Phi. Are they rushing poor people?

How do you know that the girls who dropped are PC 16 girls? Some could be seniors who graduated in the fall or other upperclassmen who wanted to be apart of recruitment in the fall before going inactive. You don't know why they dropped or their year.

I've been in a sorority here for two years now and I still don't think I've found my home. I've tried to make friends & I was even an officer, but I still feel like I only have a handful of friends. I don't feel the whole you find your family, you find your home. I guess something just didn't work out for me. I might as well drop.

I went inactive. Never made any friends and just didn't fit well within my house. I bought into the you will love your house after rush, after bid day, and after initiation . Well after a year and $5000, I didn't loveit. Fortunately made some great friends outside Greek life and looking forward to next year.

To PNM go with your gut and trust your instincts. Best advice I would give is be yourself and if you get a bid to house you love give it a chance. If you are unsure, give it a year it may be the perfect fit. If you end with a house where you don't belong then don't accept the bid and life will go in.

What makes you so sure that you were a shoo-in for the houses that cut you the first day? Because a sister told you so? Because your mother is an alum and she told you so after she complained to the chapter advisors and nationals? Please. Nobody knows the order of the lists. And people will say everything and anything to an upset PNM and mom. All of you were not number 1 on the cut list of your favorite houses. You could have just as easily been cut from those houses if it had been the usual process. This talk of "I was tricked" or "there was a mistake" or whatever, is nothing but your ego speaking. I'm not saying that to be mean, just a reality check. You have absolutely no idea of how your rush would have gone otherwise. Would certain pledge classes have been bigger? Yes. But let's get honest here - they wouldn't necessarily have included you anyway.

And the advice of "stick with your house," and "give it a chance" is good advice you would hear on any campus after rush if you didn't get your top pick.

If you had an active say after a cut how much they wanted you (or mom), and upset they were when you were cut, and how they don't know what happened, and this process makes no sense, etc. Also know that they are saying that to every girl.

This is rush. With or without variable quota.
