pnm on radar

by: PNM

How often do PNMs get tagged to be on specific sorority radar during orientation? Is this a common time for OL, etc to scope out PNMs as a real live first look? Or does no one really care because they are too busy with everything else at Orientation?

Truth is they e been looking st you since you registered. Chances are you've been stalked and discussed. Orientation was just another look.

By the time pre recruitment week starts, every single PNM with any sort of social media has been stalked through and through. My sorority once cut a girl for posting too many selfies, and another girl for posting a pic with a deer she had shot. I agree this is too harsh, but make sure you're social media is completely clean!

I don't understand how a sorority is able to dive that thoroughly into each PNM social media. There are over 850 girls. Do they group them/split them up with actives? Do they look at OOS, including far OOS as thoroughly as MS gals?

My sister and I (different houses) both had to report on girls from our hometown. Every house has girls creeping on Facebook. If you find stuff on there, it's easy to assume they will Be that way in real life.

Like Tri Delt, do they other sororities divide up the girls into groups to "stalk" them/research them to see if they will be a good fit?

Each sorority has a recruitment team, a group of girls that works on recruitment starting in the spring and all throughout summer. As girls register for recruitment, we look them up on social media as well as read through their resume and transcripts. Yes it may seem crazy with 850 girls to "stalk" but that's what we do. We do this most with girls we don't know. If a girl is from MS or a state like Alabama or Tennessee we likely have girls in our sorority that know them and can vouch for them on whether or not they have a good repuattaion. But if we don't know anything about them, we will look at their social media to see if they are good girls. I hope this answered your questions

Recruitment opens up in June, so how do groups of girls work on the PNMs? Do the groups get together or do they research separately and then discuss? It doesn't seem logistically feasible since it's the summer. Or maybe, it's only a handful of girls who research all the PNMs and they aren't divided up amongst the girls in the house. All I know is y'all have one heck of a long summer getting ready for rush!!!

Hmmm, you are right @SM, how do they start looking into PNMs if recruitment doesn't start until June 1?

Since last year current members have been aware of hundreds of girls who are going through or might be going through recuritment for this year and have been stalked. Like pre rush when girls were invited to stay with current girls in sorority for a weekend, or a friend of a friend tells a member their friend is going through and they get added to the list. They accumulate lists of girls. Recruitment team does work over the summer stalking girls individually and form files. Then when houses get the official list of girls who have signed up they start on those girls who haven't been looked at yet. Seems impossible but it's really not. When you go through recruitment on the other side of things you will see.
