variable quota

by:

How do you think variable quota will go this year? Do you think there will be more butthurt moms and girls this year again? Which houses do you see benefitting from variable quota this year and which houses do you think won't benefit?

None of them benefitted, no pc should be over 100 girls. No way, need more sororities if anything

Why would a new sorority come to MSU? It is so toxic to new sororities.

The lower houses benefit because they get more members and their main thing is #'s, but the upper houses get 100% more elite.

Not true on the quality. Girls who get in top houses have active members pulling for them and ms connections ( moms and grandmother connections ) There are quality girls in all the sororities and some not so quality girls in all the sororities. I think we have witnessed it last semester with one of the top houses having major "lack of quality girl" problems.

Zeta benefited the most last year by far and they were one of the lowest houses. This year I can see ADPi benefiting (hopefully) since their pledge classes have been increasingly higher quality every year. That being said I see DDD suffering again because they can't shake their bad reputation that last year's PC has given them. I see the top houses being unaffected, as usual. I see PNMs complaining less because now that the new system has been in effect for a year no one will be blindsided.

Just by the numbers the houses will be closer. 6 houses were within 25 members of one other with 1 had many more than others and 1 with fewer. ADPi has 22 or so graduating girls and that number is likely to grow. 5 years ago zeta had 12 seniors and now the have the same number as half the houses!

Is this like an algebra problem?

Oh no, looks like someone's ACT score wasn't high enough so she still needs to take College Algebra, lol

No. Just pointing out that in number, variable quota is working. Majority of houses are within a reasonable distance of one another and 1 or 2 more years houses "should" be even. But that "should" won't work because you can't predict human reaction to it. I.e. All the girls who believe they are only top house quality and get a middle house. Then drop.

This upcoming year I see Tri Delta being more selective on who they give bids too since they benefitted the least from variable quota. That being said, the damage is definitely done on their reputation. I now see ADPi as above them because of how far they fell this past year with their PC. I see more girls wanting ZTA and maybe even ADPi because the variable quota seemed to work out for them. I think Phi Mu will be more selective because apparently it was a big insult to them to have to take the biggest PC out of the top houses last year. Chi O will be selective as always so don't waste your energy hoping for them, or for DG or KD for that matter.
I honestly liked variable quota. It felt like a lot of the houses didn't cut as many girls so I had the opportunity to really decide which house I liked and felt at home with.

Chi O can't be as "selective" this year as they have been in the past because of all their issues with drinking and a freshman almost dying in front of their house due to alcohol poisoning at an official Chi O function. Chi O and KD usually go after the same girls and are super selective but the girls who like to drink and go out typically go KD while the non-drinkers usually go Chi O. All that changed this year and Chi O can't hide it and their pledge class was wilder than KD's pledge class. But variable quota will still ensure that KD, Chi O, and DG get the PNM's they want and can still be super selective.

@Nope

Chi O will be more selective than ever and yes they will remain a very desirable house for PNMs.

So, the real result of variable rush is yet to he determined. How, many pledges actually stay active and how many went inactive.
Did all the butt hurt girls stay in the houses they were forced into and will the PISSED off mom's fund them?

Is it true that fall recruitment is moving to the first week of school?

By: ?
by: ...

My boyfriend who will be a sophomore fraternity member got an email yesterday saying sorority and fraternity recruitment will be the last week in August. The university is done with losing money from PNMs who leave because of recruitment cuts.
