"Chi O was founded on Christian values"
And now we see what that actually looks like.

@Yeah - Finger pointing much? You may be correct that other sororities and girls have had issues not becoming of a sorority member but the fact that you needed to spew it does not deflect the present issue with ChiO. It just makes you look like a whiner.

Whiner? Hardly.

Blast away while you can. The latest scandal will move on to another group soon.

@Yeah you seem to believe another scandal will make this go away but you spent the time to dig up scandals from years past and even threw Ole Miss in the discussion. What makes you think people will let Chi O have a pass on this?

@Well

Never said anyone would let Chi O pass on this but I don't see it hurting themes badly as many people seem to hope it will. You can't pretend a group of 320 girls did this. It was a few members who might not even be members at this point. I could see them being kicked out of the sorority. Mine would. I'm sure Greek Rank will keep it going as long as possible though. I still don't think it will hurt Chi O during recruitment. It's not changing their top GPA. In fact it might be even higher if they are on social probation. It's not changing their members who are leaders in every organization on campus including SA President and Secretary. I didn't have to "dig up" the other scandals mentioned because I remember them happening my freshman year and while my older sister was active and have many friends who are Greek at Ole Miss. My point is that while it is bad and is giving Chi O tons of bad PR right now it won't last forever or be serious enough to hurt them as a chapter. I might be proven wrong but I don't see it happening.

@Yeah I tend to agree it will not hurt recruitment overall. If they get Fall social probation then a few girls may pass on them. The social experience is a big part of the Freshman year. Their status has taken a blow and people are going to take advantage. Remember people attack ADPi almost daily on this site and they certainly need all the support they can get.
Chi o is going to have this talked about for years. If the rumors are true, felony assault on a police officer is a serious offense. One can assume the Chi O who did this has bigger problems than whether her membership has been revoked. The member who was taken to hospital, one can hope she and others learned a very valuable lesson. Very scary for her. As for the group that stole liquor and tried to cover up...no room in my world for a thief. Just tacky. Pull those memberships.

@lol I have never heard of NPC reviewing a chapter before. The national organization would make decisions based on NPC rules but I've never heard of the NPC itself making a decision on a specific chapter. Can you direct me to NPC guidelines for this. I have only found NPC Mutual Agreements online with most issues related to recruitment. I know there are NPC alcohol policies but need direction for finding them.

Chi O , KD and DG ( top tier ) always get a pass. Such a double standard. Doubtful anything will happen discipline wise. There are the same types of girls in every sorority. The top tier girls are no better or different than the rest of us ( Phi Mu, DDD, Pi Phi, ADPi and ZTA ) just that most MS girls want to be in these three and it is highschool cliques all over again. Just my opinion.....I have many friends in Chi O - a lot of nice girls. Only reason why everyone on here wants them to get in trouble is because top tier gets away with everything ( recruitment infractions etc ) and no one ever holds them accountable. If anyone else does anything, it gets brought up time and time and time again ...this too will pass and it will not hurt them one bit.

A few years back some KDs were caught putting alcohol in the crystal light bins in the kitchen. They were all kicked out and KD as a whole didn't have social events for the rest of the semester. Wrong is wrong whether a group is top or bottom. I wouldn't want to see ANY sorority kicked off campus. It looks bad on all of us and it could EASILY happen to any group next. Those involved should be kicked out, and the whole sorority should lose functions, but talking about getting rid of any chapter is over the top.

Chi-O's should be very careful about coming on here and downplaying this incident. Acting like it is no big deal and this does not affect them in any way, might just get them in more trouble. MSU Panhellenic and Chi Omega Nationals are not unaware of this site. Chi-O's should remain quiet, remorseful, and be above these discussion threads that try to drag them down further. And next time another sorority has a girl or girls do something stupid or embarrassing, think twice before posting about it.
If Chi-O's were known for how they spread pan love and how inclusive they were, I doubt they would have so many girls on here trying to bring them down. Attitudes tend to filter down the tiers of sororities. If the ones on top are supportive of all chapters on campus instead of looking down their nose at everyone else, then the girls in chapters considered lower would be less bitter and hateful. It would be a much better Greek System.
Chi-O chapters have been kicked off campuses for less. My aunt was a Penn State Chi-O and they were kicked off for being at a themed mixer holding a sign stereotyping illegal immigrants on social media. They weren't committing a felony just being stupid.

I hated it during rush when a sister would stand up and drag a girl's name through the mud, call her unbiblical names and talk crap about he parents for doing far less than this. I hate it!!! Chi o girls are the MOST judgemental of all in the row. Take your punishment and your criticism and endure it. You are getting what we call karma. Please be less harsh during your discussions. It's a girl's reputation you are messing with! Doesn't feel good, does it?

For anyone who is wondering about this. One person made a bad choice that affected our entire chapter negatively. I think it was a lesson for chio and every other organization and person on campus to see how one persons actions literally effect everyone. CHI O IS NOT ON ANY KIND OF SOCIAL PROBATION AND IS NOT IN TROUBLE WITH ANYONE. it was an unfortunate event and honestly it's not the first time that it's happened to a sorority on campus so i personally think people are blowing it out of the water significantly
