I'm not exactly sure but I've heard from multiple people that out of the 800 or so girls that went through recruitment, 150 either dropped or were released before the week was over. But don't let this scare you! I was so nervous about this last year but as long as you make yourself noticed and you have a good GPA you will get a bid And if not, I know plenty of girls that were released and then did spring recruitment and now are in a sorority they love!

Rush this past year was brutal. Lots of legacies were released early and even more right before pref. Recs are very important and they need to come from State alums. Model your behavior after the house you want. But keep all party pics to a minimum. Clean up your social media.
And you have to impress someone in a house or know someone. Just because you have a 4.0 and a solid resume don't assume you get to pick your house. There are 200 other girls that have the same or better credentials than you. If you are not from Mississippi and a large high school (Madison, Tupelo, Southhaven, etc), then your options will be limited.
Oh and yes at least 20-25% were cut or dropped.

A lot of girls dropped out of rush because they weren't happy with their options. Girls think they are too good for houses or came in expecting a bid to Chi o, Dg, or Kd. Sadly its not that easy. You have about a 25% chance of getting a top house since they are not allowed to take as many girls. I think last year chi o took 79 or something and adpi could take like 150. It sucks that this system works this way now but the best advice is not to come in expecting a top house and keep your mind open.
