kd chunks

by: Flower

I heard KD alums are increasingly upset that their image is in jeopardy. I overheard some upperclassmen saying that these last two pledge classes had quite a few heavy girls- more than normal- and they are putting in mandatory exercise hours. Also, during rush, they will cut back on the heavy rushees. Sometimes a legacy can bite you in the butt! Same thing can be said for taking large groups from one school/area. You should never offer more than 6 bids from one HS group of girls.

These two pledge classes are not any different than normal for them. They always have girls from varying sizes. Because the size of you clothes doesn't make you worse or better than anyone else.

This is not only completely rude but it's also just ridiculous. Every single house has girls that are all shapes and sizes. I know my house does, and I think it's great that our Greek system isn't shallow enough to cut girls for how big or small they might be. There isn't one house that has more "big" girls than another honestly. Please stop putting another house down

Wow KD are you a little defensive? Why respond to any accusation, no matter how silly you deem it? You are always jumping in there when any mention of your name comes up. It's classier to just keep your mouth shut.

@wow, it's not just KDs who are defensive to this type of talk. It's women in general, this type of rhetoric and hatred is not tolerated anymore. I venture to guess and would bet my life that most sane women at MSU despite their dress size or physical build take great offensive to opening remark.

I'm not sure if you live in a cave or just dense, but are you even slightly aware of the intense women's movement that's going on now, right.... please don't embarrass the rest of us.

I am not condoning this sort of talk but I have seen MANY times where KD has bemoaned another sorority for even the slightest words spoken as defense to an outlandish accusation. Words like "dear _____, why defend yourself every time someone even brings up your name." Or "Hey ______, its better to say nothing. A classier sorority would ignore negative remarks."
If a woman is truly into this "woman empowerment," you should never correct a co-ed for defending itself. So if it's good for you, KD, it's good for phi mu, DG, zeta, or any other group.

@well, you just gotta get that dig in don't you? I don't think it's only KDs who take great offense to this talk. Actually I know it isn't because I'm not a KD and I find it offensive!! And I'm not a "chunk" either.

So you want to excuse it because "turnabout is fair play"? Good gracious, what in the world is wrong with you people? It's not ok to talk like this no matter what the KDs have said in the past. Yes, they've talked crap about others and said things when other sororities are defending themselves but it doesn't make it right. EVERY single sorority on this campus has done the same thing - even mine. IT DOES'T MAKE IT RIGHT. We need to be better than this.

I am a legacy to my house and I take offense in OP stating that "a legacy can bite you in the butt" or suggesting that bids should be narrowed based on geographical area. Why do you care?? Unless, you are hurt over the outcome of your own bid day.

Please ladies, let's be kinder to each other.
