recs for oos pnms
by: RecsHow important is it for OOS (not from the south) to get recs from Mississippi? My mom, grandmother, etc were not in a sorority so I need to be creative in getting any kind of rec for all the sororitys. Any advice would be great. TIA

While I was a legacy, I am also not a southerner. My biggest surprise from the other side of rush was that many Mississippi girls get several recs per house. Any recs will help, no matter what school the alumna attended. Coming from OOS can be tough, but joining a sorority is the best way to make friends as soon as you get to campus.

Don't listen to the other girls who comment on here. I was OOS and my top 2 were KD and Phi Mu. Every.Single.Other girl who came from my area with me got KD, Chi O, and Phi Mu. Yes, recs are very important and I would get at least 3 for each house. But at the end of the day it's about where you fit in best and if that's not in the "top 4" then who cares? Best of luck to you sweet girl, and BE PROUD of where you end up.
