Never thought about this. Any one know about how this works with frats?

Exec officers are required to live in the house. For others, if you are going to live in the house it will be sophomore year.

Are all sophomores required to live in the frat house or is it optional? Thanks

I think some sororities require members to live in the house at some point, others don't. Some houses are full of sophomores and officers while others have juniors/seniors. No sororities allow guys into the dorm sections and no sororities allow alcohol to openly be in the house. I

Wow, so it looks like over 100 girls live in the sorority house at a time. Are the rooms set up like 2-4 pp dorm rooms or is there a super huge room with tons of bunk beds?

Every house is different. I know DG has four people rooms with two bunk beds. I think Tri Delt and Chi O are similar in that they have two bedrooms with built ins.

No house has 100 girls in their chapter live in house. Most have 50-70. And most are 2 in a room with the main except DG with larger rooms so more girls.

If pledge classes are 70-110 and most houses have room for 50-70 sophomores, does that mean not all in the pc ever live in the house? Is it first come first serve sign ups? Or do that many go inactive by sophomore year?

I don't know how every sorority works, but in mine we use a point system. Girls on exec are required to live in the house but the rest of the spots are based on a variety of things like how many years you've been in the sorority and what your GPA is. The longer you've been in the sorority and the higher your GPA is, the better chance you have. A lot of sororities also have a hall in Hathorn for girls who aren't able to live in the house, so this is also an option.

Almost every sorority requires a minimum of one year living requirement. At ms state, those liveins are split between hathorne hall and the sorority house. Majority of the houses enforce the live in requirement within the second year of membership. Different Chapter officers also have a housing requirement.

I know that chi o, ADPi, and zeta do not require you to live in the house/Hathorn. Pi phi does require one year and I believe dog now requires two years but maybe just one. Idk about the rest

ADPi does you to live in the house for one year. It is decided by top grades etc to see who gets to live in the house. All else will go to Hawthorn. All executive board must live in the house.

The in house positions obviously live in the house and you are required to live in either the house or the Tri delta hall in Hathorne your sophomore year! :)

You are required to live in the house for 1 year, but can be excused for a few different reasons. Exec has to live in the house, then they fill it with juniors who haven't lived there yet, and the remaining spots go to sophomores based on GPA, then alphabetically. I like that it is a mix of pledge classes because you get to meet girls you normally wouldn't spend a ton of time with unless you already knew them.

Phi mus push their bed together...

This comment sounds really weird as written. Most roommates in Phi Mu do push their twin beds together to look like a king size bed. Each bed is made separately with different sheets and then a larger bedspread/comforter is used over both beds. They are able to pull off great looking rooms by doing this.
