back in the day

I heard my mom and her sisters talking today about how KD (in the 80's) always took many many junior college transfer juniors. She told that in 1984, for example, they had 70 bids go out and 20 were to junior college transfer girls. The next thing I heard was that KD nationals came down and threw a fit about it a few years later. So all these KD alums now are basically junior college transfers. They also said other sororities didn't do this practice as much. KD's legacy is basically built on women who only went to college here a few years. Does anyone know why they stopped the practice all together? I know KD cut some good girls that were transfers . I mean if it's your legacy and practice, why stop?
