My KD friend told me that KD has a huge donor that hand selects the pledge class every year. How is this done? How much money has to be donated to have this much pull? Is it usually an alumni that can do this? I guess I'm in shock that this is done. I guess everything can be bought. I'm envious of people with that much money.

This is not entirely true! There are alumns from every chapter that have a lot of influence regarding which girls get a bid, but there is not one mom who hand picks new members!
