which are the most selective
by: GuestWhich sororities are often the more difficult ones to get into / the most specific when choosing girls?

Listen I preach on here how wonderful every group is and that we need to focus on far more than a "top 3" or "top 4." Every house gets to be selective and invite back girls they think will fit in best with them. Just look at ADPi, they SELECTED 72 girls last year rather than end up 110 that might not really fit in. If you're asking who is the most selective by numbers though, then it isn't some "top tier" propaganda. Panhellenic tells every chapter how many girls they HAVE to release every single night. DG, KD, and Chi O each release at least half, if not over half, of all the girls rushing. Phi Mu is right on their tails with numbers. Pledge classes are somewhere between 80-100 girls and these houses only pre about 150-175. They HAVE to bid over half the girls they pref, and they do cross-pref a lot. All the other sororities are selective as well and girls do get released and heartbroken when they are cut from any house. But just based on numbers, those 3 are the toughest.

Panhellenic tells each sorority how many PNMs must be released after each round. Chi O and DG, generally have to make the most, followed VERY closely by KD and Phi Mu. These groups are required to make more releases each night than other groups. This FACT alone makes them more selective. The required releases are based on the sorority's overall size and history of return rates. If you don't know this or will be a sophomore and didn't realize this fact then I'll cut you some slack. Otherwise please stop because the required releases are fact! No one is saying other houses cannot be selective on their own because they definitely can but the required releases make the larger houses (notice I didn't say best) the most selective.
