alums

by: Someone

I find it ridiculous that college graduate women find it necessary to interfere with the entire rush process of their college sorority. I may be condemned fir speaking of this and have prayed long and hard about how to deal with this. We have an alum that continues to try and write negative recommendations for girls in her hometown. I'm sorry … there aren't that many terrible girls that live in a small town. Instead of building up this group, she holds grudges against mothers and acquaintances. So much so, that we have been told to ignore her phone calls and letters. Please remember, when you leave, trust us that are left behind to continue the legacy of a sorority.

I agree that consistently write bad recs for girls is pretty heinous of the alum. However, if it weren't for our alums, our rush wouldn't be as successful. They help out so much. My advice is to just ignore any recs that she sends in and take her opinions with a grain of salt.

Is there a way a sorority (I'm on one of the top 4) can get an alum to stop running her mouth within the community? How do other groups handle this? She is now running down her own sorority within our community.

Sounds like a lady that is having trouble letting go of her past plotting days. Can you just ignore her calls and letters?

Why would anyone want to sabotage a child's life? We all made dumb mistakes at 17-18.
