candlelight ceremonies
by: WonderingWhen a girl is engaged, what are the traditional candlelight ceremonies each sorority has?

I'm pretty sure I can say this here; if not just one of my sisters reply to it and I'll take it down
In zeta we get in a really big circle and pass around the candle while we sing a song special to the chapter. The candle goes around twice, and the second time around the circle, whoever blows the candle out is engaged!! I kinda thought this is what all sororities did though, or at least something very similar

As far as I know it's the same in every house. The older Chi O's tell a story about a proposal during one of our candlelights when they were fresh/soph. The guy had it all planned with exec and the girl's friends! He ordered the candlelight flowers and had them sent to the house. As soon as Chapter meeting was over he slipped into the room and hid. We formed our circle and began singing with his soon to be fiancée's friends standing on either side of her. When the candle came to her of course she passed it on to her friend. The friend then handed it back to her and blew it out. Then the guy jumped out of hiding and proposed to her in front of the entire chapter!! I would loved to have seen it!
