keep an open mind because being in a "top house" isn't the best option for everyone. Choose based on where you feel the most comfortable and most welcomed and don't lie to yourself as you go through rush and try to convince yourself otherwise because I promise you will not be happy with your choice. Top house or not you'd rather have good friends than a good name.

I couldn't agree with this more
I'm in a so-called "bottom house" and the only part that's not great is the judgment that comes from others. Coming on GreekRank and and consistently being called a "bottom-tier" house.... People assuming that there must be something wrong with me because of the letters I wear... Honestly, it hurts sometimes.
But at the end of the day, I wouldn't trade my sorority for all the stars in the sky. Joining this sisterhood was the best decision I've ever made. The girls around me are my best friends, my sisters. I love them more than anything. My sorority gave me friendship when I was lonely, a shoulder to cry on when I was sad, a house to make a million memories in, but most importantly, my sorority gave me a home. I love my sisters with all my heart.
So forget the idea the "bottom tier" is bad. The tiers mean NOTHING. Ttop or bottom, if you follow your heart, you will find your home:)
