bid day
by: ??do the moms find out before the daughters what house they're getting a bid from? seeing mom's show up to bid day in the colors of their daughter's new sorority seems like too big of a coincidence sometimes...

My mom knew because I was a triple legacy to that house and I called her saying I was putting that house first on my pref card first which means I will 100% get a bid from that house. Idk if all houses work like that but it's a national thing for mine... Legacies that make if to pref go first on the bid lists....and if they cut a legacy they have to give the mother a call.

I'll answer - No one knows "for sure" until the list of new members are given to the sorority. We get the lists around the same time the PNM get their bid card.
The only way a mom would know "for sure" is if their daughter is a legacy, goes to her legacy house for pref and lists them first. In this case they are assured a bid (at least in every sorority I know). Other than this there is no way to know "for sure". Yes chapter members who are communicating with mom, right or wrong it happens, will tell you what they "think" but this can go horribly wrong!
Moms need to listen to their daughters during recruitment not guide them. The house they chooses will be their home for 4 years. PNMs need to be the one who is happy not the mom.
