theme or skit night

Since there will no longer be skit/theme round during recruitment will another round be added in its place or will recruitment be one round shorter.
I'm really sad skit won't be around for me to see. My friends at several colleges say it was the most fun night of the week for the sorority members and PNMs.

There was so many rush infractions this past rush. The entire process was jaded for many reasons. The taking away of theme night is another attempt at making rush more politically correct. If you PNMs would stop being horrible in HS, rush would have less drama.
Also, you freshmen, stop promising bids to your senior friends. Chi o has to pay a heavy price for dirty rushing. Just follow the rules! And since chi o's rush chair is the rule breaker, I hope Panhellenic follows chi o closely. She is one that thinks rules don't apply to chi o. Also, it is things like this that made rush traditions change. Ugh! It's so frustrating!

I'm not an active member but a grad student, so I don't personally know what the new round will look like. I've been told it's going to be a Sisterhood theme, but I'm not sure how chapters will organize it. I personally am very sad Theme is going away because it was the best way for houses to show off their unique personality and it was just entertaining. I feel like it's a push from the National Panhellenic organization to make rush more politically correct and give chapters an "even playing field." They don't want girls picking a house because they can put on a better skit than another. It may work in theory, except that the world isn't perfect and unfortunately not all sororities are on an even field. That may sound harsh, but some groups "put on a show" better than others. If that matters to you then you want to know. If that vide turns you off you should also be able to make that decision. Every house is outstanding and has so much to offer, but bottom line girls match better with certain vibes that are noticeable in skits.

This decision was made last year and it affects all NPC sororities. Some chapters have already gone to "no frills" in accordance to their local Panhellenic. Luckily we won't be going to the extreme of those schools. Each sorority has to have the same glasses at water party and same decorations. It's ridiculous!

so basically making everyone "equal"? I'm not talking equal in "tiers" but "equal" as in not allowing individual chapters to show their unique personalities. That stinks. Set a budget (I know there is already one but enforce it) and let each sorority decide how to spend it so their chapter's personality is shown! For example: By same decorations do you mean a banner at each house uniquely designed by a chapter member or a generic banner that is identical to the one next door?

Wow! Someone isn't happy. I was looking for an answer not for you to bash a particular sorority, a specific rush chair or PNMs in general. I'm not sure if you realize it but my original post says several schools are dropping theme/skit - MSU and Ole Miss to name two. People like you really turn me off. Praying I don't end up in your house next year. I would appreciate it if someone with a more level head would respond. Thanks!
