This isn't right at all. National strength is a perception. Every sorority has really strong chapters and really weak chapters. And don't say that's based on the number of chapters, cause that's not right either. And even if a group does have more chapters, it's possible that they're at small niche schools that don't matter.

I view national strength as what would be more of a household name. For example purposes, more people have heard of KD or Phi Mu than have heard of DPhiE. Of course, some people have no idea about anything Greek life, but some people get to campus and have never heard of some of the sororities or fraternities but others they have heard about before. I have friends from USC in Colombia and they had never heard of AOII before. It all goes back to the number of powerhouse chapters, how long you've been around, and even things like what your philanthropy is. That being said, I'm in one of the nationally "weaker" sororities mentioned here and I love it. I do feel that Zeta is nationally the "strongest" on our campus though.

Not based on # of chapters, based of how respected they are and other factors.
