rush 2014
by: GSU18
Is it common to get dropped during sorority rush at Georgia Southern and not get a bid at all? if so, for what reasons? I am rushing as a freshman fall 2014 and i am a little afraid that i won't get in a sorority because I'm from far away and lack sorority "connections"
I would really like to experience greek life and see where I end up finding a home but I'm letting my fear of rejection get the best of me!
thanks in advance!

Don't stress! Yes, Greek life is somewhat competitive but it's not something you should be worrying about or scared of. Just try to get recommendations and be yourself during rush. You will find your home! And it's not the end of the world if you don't go Greek or if you rush again as a sophomore!

It's not so much about connections as it is selling yourself, make sure you're super outgoing, be able to hold a conversation well without any lulls, make yourself memorable & likable.
There are other factors that affect bids too, such as your GPA from high school or your social media accounts (facebook pics, tweets, instagrams).
