is there a point...

...of joining a fraternity for one semester?
Unfortunately, I know that I will be transferring for fall but I still want to join a fraternity. I know about the commitment and I am willing to put in all my time for that but would it be accepted by the brothers? Pledging will last 8 weeks, so there would still be a month left in the semester.
Has anybody been in a similar situation or what would you do in my situation? Thanks a lot!
