You have to go to them the first round. After that, they won’t have events until after bid day. So no chapter, including DPHIE, will have to take anyone for numbers. Expect harsh cuts because every chapter will make quota. I doubt anyone will be doing COB or spring rush.

So whereas most could always go in knowing that they always had them to fall back on as a last resort that won’t be the case this time?

DPHie would accept anyone so the only way a PNM would not get a bid is if they dropped.

They are doing this so people won’t drop out of formal. You can still join them, but they don’t have to take everyone. If you get dropped from the rest, you can go to their events after formal is over. So if you don’t want to be in DPhiE you best maximize your options.
