i think i made a huge mistake

Per this card, you may drop but you can't join another sorority for 1 calendar year. You could join a non-npc, but they would be hesitant to take you. Gamma sig has to take You becuase they have to pledge everyone. Your best bet is to stick it out. You already owe this group $ and they own your name for 1 calendar year. If you don't like it, drop before initiation.

I would drop and try rushing again, just know going through rush for a 2nd time you are less likely to get into a sorority

Don't drop. Was it any better today? Give it a chance for a few more weeks. As for the actives, we are beyond tired. Give us a break. As for your roommate/ pledge sister that was flat out rude. Did you join a house that only gives bids to girls from a certain area who already know each other? That could be a problem but remember these girls picked you while others were completely cut. Don't initiate if you still feel the same way by then. Good luck!

It takes time to get a true connection in a group. You are not friends automatically with all your sisters just because you got a bid. Try someone different, and keep trying until you DO connect.

I agree with the previous poster that your roommate was rude. You could tell her that in a diplomatic way how it made you feel, or how about ask her to let you tag along the next time they grab lunch off campus.

Why don't you call them out for being rude? Maybe they'd stip

Don't drop!! You are going to encounter b!+c#es in every sorority. Just try to find the girls you that you can enjoy being around. Also, let this be a learning opportunity. If your group COBs or when yall have rush next year, seek out the girl that seems to be alone or not getting along with her pledge class and YOU be the one to make her feel like a princess! She will never forget it and you will be the best BIG ever!

It is awful that you experienced this on your first few days out. Recruitment and bid day are not accurate representations of what life in a sorority is truly like. Houses are huge with many different kind of girls in every house and every pledge class. You WILL find your group of friends even in this house. They do make it hard to drop out since you are stuck for an entire year but on the other hand if you hang in there you will find some girls that will be your future bridesmaids. Perhaps you are that girl that someone next year is going to need because they are feeling the same way you are today. I would also encourage you to get involved in a small way in your house as well as around campus. It's a great way to represent your house and be friends with others outside the house and inside the house. You may find the right girls inside your house through your involvement. You are not going to be besties but you will find a group of girls that love you for you.
