Sorority dues vary on the sorority, but they're all very up front with how much they cost. It is usually about $160-170 per term (we have three full quarters and a summer quarter). You don't pay for any quarter you are not here usually (vacation, co-op abroad, study abroad, etc.)
Sororities usually have payment plans that many sisters use in order to split up their payments throughout the term and make them more affordable!

Most sororities have much higher new member dues than active sister dues. When you are a new member (after you receive a bid but before initiation), you will pay extra for different things, including your badge and some other assorted fees from nationals.
Once you are an active sister, you usually pay a certain amount each month as base dues. Then on top of those dues, you pay for t shirts, outings, tickets to formal, "building funds" and any fines you may have incurred. So usually like $90, but much more depending on the month.
Also, many sororities DO NOT allow you to "pay nothing" while you are away on co-op. There are special "statuses" you can go on if you can prove you'll be out of the city, but being in a sorority is not just a "pay when you can afford it" deal. If you know that you can't cough up dues each month, save yourself the heartbreak of joining an org.
