What makes a good house? To me it's Sisterhood, Involvement and Grades. So saying that, I'd say the top houses in campus are Theta, XO, Pi Phi and Kappa.

The most important thing is that you like the girls in the house. Grades don't matter as much as people like to pretend because at the end of the day, your GPA is all that matters, you're not judged based on your houses GPA. Popularity means nothing if you hate being there.

You need to pledge a house full of girls that you're not ashamed to be associated with and that you like spending time with; because you'll be spending A LOT of time with each other.

Except in a way you ARE judged by your house's GPA. When you go out in your letters and you are in a house with a mediocre GPA, people assume you aren't that bright. Just sayin'.

Not saying it's right to judge. Just saying it's true. No one ever in the history of greek life at Mizzou saw a Gamma Phi walking down the street and said to herself, "Now there goes a Rhodes Scholar."

And why not? Gamma Phi is only 0.224 GPA points behind Theta this semester and they are above the All Greek and All Female threshold, unlike some of our houses. Why can't any of our Greek women be Rhodes scholars?

Every time I see someone comment that such-and-such a house is ONLY 0.2 points different from such-and-such a house, I think to myself "now there's an ignorant person who has never taken a stats class." Just FYI, in the range we are talking about, 0.2 is a HUGELY SIGNIFICANT difference.

The point being made is that people are talking about grades as if Kappa has a 4.0 average and Sigma has a 1.2 or something. The range is not very large and most of our houses are above the all campus and all female average which is nothing to snub your nose at. Only houses that fall below those lines should be criticized because they're not a positive reflection on the Greek system

Its whoever you want your friends to be. sure you will be doing philanthropy and homecoming stuff with your chapter but its also who you are probably going to be partying, hanging out, and living with for the next four years. Every house on campus is supportive of their sisters. Think about the people who you really get along with before rush, and the kind of people who you can't stand.

Great advice. You will literally be living with 60-90 of your new member group. Great time if you like them, torture if they aren't compatible with you.

Unfortunately, you don't know how compatible you will be with others in your pledge class until you already have joined. Unless, of course, you pledge one of those houses that only takes St. Louis girls who all went to the same high school and know each other.
