freaking out about aphi
by: omgI REALLY want to COB aphi and I just want to know when they would let people know if they're interested in them. I already emailed the recruitment chair and the PHA website says they're currently doing informal. Should I just give up or have they not notified anybody yet? Thanks!!

I haven't seen this rule either. Is there a link to this announcement or what?

Don't panic. COB is different for every house. Some houses may already be starting COB, others won't start them until February. Just keep an open line of communication and try and ask some friends of yours in APhi is they know anything.
And this goes for anyone trying to COB any house.

PHA changed the new house max to 300 members, so only Delta, DG. SK and Sigma are below 300. SK is only below by one girl so they probably won't COB. DG is only below by like sixteen? So they might not. Delta is under by like thirty but they don't like COBing.
It looks like Sigma is the only bet girls have this time around.

PHA changed the house max to 315 this fall. I remember because my house after bod day was at 308 members, and the current max was 310. When PHA changed the max to 315 my chapter did a really small COB event and invited girls that came to our house on pref day that just didn't make it into the house. We ended up taking 3 girls that we thought clicked the most. It doesn't make sense to me why they would lower it to 300 when a majority of houses are above 300 members.

OCD much. Did you post this on like what 6 threads? Every one I've clicked on and I don't care to continue. No idea if you're right about that or not, I think gphi had said the same thing but who knows.

I wanted to COB KD and ADPi or maybe even Phi Mu and now some stupid rule is getting in the way of it. I'll still COB tri sigma if I have to, but it just sucks because now it's gonna be more competitive because more girls will compete for spots because they have no where else to COB. I hate not having options but formal recruitment sounds horrible and I just really wanna join a sisterhood and live in house sophomore year

Sigma won't be competitive. If you make grades for Sigma, you'll get in. My opinion is wait for Formal and just stick it out. You won't have fun if you pledge a house just to pledge. You should wait and rush as a sophomore so you have the choice of all the houses.

Having a lot of options would be nice, but I don't really have dorm friends, don't connect that well with the people in the clubs I'm apart of, and have only 2 friends at Mizzou and am the only person from my high school here. I could really use any sisterhood in my life currently. Living in Greek town next year will also be convenient for me. Tri Sigma might not be the best sorority, but I know I can find good friends and home in it if I open myself to it. APhi is doing COB so I guess it's possible too, but I'm a soft 7 at the best so idk if they I'm what they're looking for... If I did recruitment in the fall I guess I could sublease an apartment for a semester and try to move in house to whatever sorority the next semester... I'm just really afraid of having a repeat of a dull semester again.
