grade comparison-ridiculous
by: HaCompared to other schools, our 'top' grades don't even come close to comparing. And how many people really know exactly how these grades are calculated. If you did you would know that our top-and bottom- houses are really not that far apart. Please comment only if you KNOW how our grades are calculated. And remember, a 3.4 and 3.1 are not that far apart(and before you spout off, unless you have a 3.9 or higher, it is not recommended that you put your gpa on your resume. And you certainly won't put 3.215, so just round everything out). Silly conversation. Not quit worrying about the fractions of points these houses are apart and go have some fun. And fyi, I am in one of the top 5 houses. Some in my house like to claim top spot, but most know when we are talking gpa's this close, and everything that factors into it, it doesn't really matter too much

This is how grades are calculated. Every member's gpa for the semester are reported and added together. Then it is divided by the number of members whose grades were included. It's not that hard. I think determining an average was covered in 4th grade. As for difference between the top and bottom Greek GPAs, if you have ever taken a stats class you would know the difference very definitely is statistically significant. And, yes, GPA matters. So, nice try, Alpha Phi.
#4 by: I get it
hahahaha now I totally get this. I am a senior in high school and although I'm a pretty good student, I'm not the best. but I do know there are different ways to calculate 'averages'. I wouldn't think a huge university with a huge greek population would just do basic math when you have people transferring in, out, going in active then active, studying abroad, etc. the grade thing makes more sense now but i'll admit it didn't think there was as much of a range on missouris website as there was on others. everyone is pretty close. and I get the person challenging things lol. of course there is more to it than adding and dividing. still think its hella weird you all fight like this but whatever

You are wrong. Do your homework. EXACTLY how are they reported-and calculated? Guess you are not as smart as you think you are. Oh, and did you think about retention? And how many freshman, sophomores, etc. Do you know WHY there are fluctuations each semester? Ya, didn't think so. Of course anyone knows how to AVERAGE, you are correct, 4th graders do. And I guess that's where your knowledge stopped. And way to comment twice in a row pretending to be different people. And I'm definitely not an Alpha Phi. But why don't you go get more specific facts, you made a fool of yourself, good thing this is an anonymous site.
