living in house as a transfer student

by:

Hey guys, I'm like 75% sure I'll be transferring from my university to Mizzou sophomore year. I joined a sorority at my current school and love it, but unfortunately in pursuit of a better academic opportunity for what I want to major in I'll be leaving my chapter and university. Luckily, Mizzou has the sorority I'm in, and I'm going to affiliate. Even though I won't know anyone in the pledge class I'll be joining I still still want to have the experience of living in my sorority house and even participating in recruitment. Do any of you know girls who've done this? I would just shoot the chapter president an email, but it's still winter break and I'm sure no one is looking at their chapter responsibilities quite yet.

Some houses welcome transfer students, others make them go through a rigorous vetting process. Contact the chapter and see what happens.

Definitely email them! I know for my house (not KD) if someone is trying to transfer between school years, they wouldn't participate in recruitment or live in the house because we would vote on their affiliation at the first chapter meeting (after rush). But if you get the process moving now they might be able to accommodate you and make you an official member of the chapter in time to let you live in and do recruitment.
