grades and their weight

by: Holly

A few things about the grades situation. I know we always talk about how grades are important in tiers and I agree completely, grades keep our Greek system competitive and a little friendly competition never hurt.

But can we stop acting like our houses at the bottom of the grade scale are stupid? Most of our houses are above the all campus and all Greek average even if they're #11 among PHA houses. The difference between first and fifteenth isn't that large.

I think grades should be stressed and I welcome healthy competition! But let's cool it with the talk about someone being "retarded" because they're in a house that isn't usually top five in grades.

Besides, the only GPA you're graded on is the one YOU earn; not the one your sisters earn.

I value grades, but your chapters 3.45 GPA doesn't mean much if you were the sister who earned a 2.7 at the end of the day

Yes yes yes yes to you and the OP! Just like your chapter's 3.2 average doesn't mean anything when you have a 3.9.
