what makes kd bottom?

When you look at a chapter overall these are the typical things we look at: academics, leadership, philanthropy, sisterhood, popularity (socialness), and attractiveness. KD is very strong in the first three, but is sub par in the last two categories. Houses that are generally ranked over them in mid tier are stronger in all categories versus tan just a few. That is why KD, zeta, sigma, and phi mu, are all ranked in bottom tier. It's not that they're bad houses by any means, it just means other houses are stronger. PNMs look for houses that can offer lots of different things, not just a "one trick pony." In KDs case, they only offer girls involvement and acAdemics.

KD has probably the strongest sisterhood on campus tbh. Although they aren't super popular they offer something everything else. They probably could care less who thinks they're bottom tier because they're happy in their letters regardless. And on another note they recruit the same girls as theta adpi and kappa. They just lose out on the prettier ones to adpi and kappa.

When I rushed, KD was my worst experience because it was just so painfully awkward. I had boring conversations and the girls seemed like they didn't know how to hold a conversation, I couldn't wait to leave. I ranked them only above sigma and GPhi. People said phi mu was awkward but that was nothing compared to KD. I know KD isn't all like that, but part of what makes it bottom tier is that they're kinda divided between really outgoing girls and really quiet introverted girls. The girls in KD are great and total sweethearts, but since a lot of them are just on the quieter side and not great at having short quick convos with girls, they don't really shine during formal recruitment. When you have a chance to get to know KD's, they're great, even the ones that may be awkward during recruitment. But if you don't shine in recruitment you're not going to be considered top no matter how sweet you are or how great your sisterhood is because people aren't as drawn to your house as they are to others where almost everyone has great conversation skills and makes every PNM feel comfortable.
