gpa and act cutoff

No one can tell you exactly that is private information, just do your best this year and use these easy senior classes to boost your gpa and not slack off. I would say a 3.5+ is safe for most houses, ACT I'm not so sure

I went through recruitment with a 24 ACT and a 2.8 GPA last year... let me tell you it sucked. I got cut from a lot of houses after the first 2 rounds due to grade cuts. If you get cut for grades it will more than likely be in the first 2 rounds. I'm very lucky that I did get a bid from a house I love, but I will tell you I had very limited choices. So if you have bad grades, you need to know someone in the house to get through get cuts.

I'm actually a freshman here and I posted this question because those are the houses that cut me on the first day. I had a 3.75 GPA and 26 ACT so I was just wondering if I was below their standards or they just didn't think I fit in very well!

I am in one of those houses (not Theta) and a 3.75/26 would be very borderline for us. We would take a close look at rigor of classes (and would hope to see lots of AP or IB classes) and any recs that were submitted. I would say that we accepted just a handful of people with this GPA/ACT score for this year's pledge class. Also, I would assume the 3.75 was weighted, because you should, of course, submit your best GPA. And a 3.75 weighted isn't that great. Sorry.

I am in one of the houses above (not Theta, PiPhi or ADPi) and I think that GPA and ACT score would fall into about our mid-range. We took many girls with better grades, but many others that were not as high. And for the girls who always seem to reply that rush is just about who you know and who knows you, that will only get you so far. It sometimes depends on how much we respect the girl in the house who might know you and is pulling for you. It actually can work against you. I would say in our house you still have an excellent chance even if you don't know anyone.
