transferring schools
by: Transfer studentI am transferring to Mizzou next semester because of my major in journalism. I am an AXO at my current school and want to try it it out at Mizzou. I really don't know much about it. If any one could help me out and tell me what they are like that would be awesome!

Why would you go anywhere else BUT Mizzou for Journalism? No other program in the nation compares. The AXO chapter here is great, and the house itself is wonderful and in a great location. Mizzou has proved itself to be an enlightened university, which is the perfect climate for a journalism major. Go for it.

This couldn't be further from the truth. The instructor who didn't want protesters to be filmed WAS NOT IN THE JOURNALISM SCHOOL. She was in the Communications Department which, as everyone knows, is what people major in when they can't get into the J-School. No one is being critical of the J-School because it has nothing to do with the J-School. And if you look at the Missourian, the TV and radio coverage by J-School students, it was among their finest hours. I can't wait to see the prizes and awards they win for their coverage.

She probably wouldn't want to go here because the #1 Journalism school in the country had professors and staff at their school violating their own students 1st amendment rights! BIG MISTAKE by our school. I agree-still number one-but this fall killed us-we will see with those that choose to attend-Mizzou has been dropped like a hot potato. They say Mizzou is like stepping back in time to the 1940s
