The Kappa who won is Miss Missouri USA which is part of the Miss USA and Miss Universe Pageant
That's different from Miss Missouri, which deals with the Miss America Pageant

Seriously Kappa, everyone is SICK of your constant self promotion. The vast majority of your pledges listed you 3rd and your "pageant" girls are usually from towns of about 300 people and rather scary looking. Bottom line - NO ONE GIVES A FLYING F ABOUT YOU!

I'm sorry, but someone needs to explain to me why we are going crazy for someone who wins a competition simply because of her looks. Did I miss something? Is it 1957 all over again? I really didn't even know pageants like this still existed. Now, I've heard that there is a sorority on this campus who has a member who just got a perfect score on her GRE. Why are we not singing her praises? Because THAT really is an accomplishment.

woah wow hey. why cant people just congratulate each other sometimes, huh? the girl who won that is a great girl! they should be proud to have her in their house. I've met her on multiple occasions and she totally deserved that and she represents kappa in the best light possible. so good for them.

as for the hate and self promotion accusations, i can't think its impossible for the OP not to be a kappa seeing as most people don't actually hate them. Sometimes people actually just wanna congratulate each other on their members' accomplishments. and to the person who claims they need to get a pledge class made of 100% girls who preffed them first, id like to know what house has EVER had that happen? seems a bit unreasonable. i know plenty of tri delts who didnt actually pref them first... but who knows.

Point is, be nice. Kappa is an outstanding house and they have a member to be very proud of! thats a big accomplishment whether you believe in pageants or not. PHA love people come on.

People are so insecure on this website that they don't realize that when one Mizzou woman succeeds, the entire Greek system looks good. Some of you should try supporting other women instead of tearing them down, you'd be surprised what comes of positivity and love.
