out of state

by: Wondering

I am a senior in high school who will be going through rush next August. I am an honor student, was a homecoming princess twice and am editor of my h.s. newspaper (and plan to major in journalism). I am a TriDelt and DG legacy (mom and sister, neither of whom went to Mizzou). I am from out of state (Colorado) and have heard from a friend at Mizzou who went through rush that TriDelts really don't take many out-of-state girls, and that they choose from a fairly small circle of St. Louis high schools. I realize it's early and also that being a legacy doesn't mean much these days, but do you think TriDelt would consider someone from out of state? How about DG? Are there other houses that would be more welcoming to someone like me who only knows a couple of girls on this campus? Thanks for your time.

I'm a Texas journalism gal, and the houses that seemed to really welcome me and be open were Chi O, Kappa, Pi Phi, Theta, and APhi. I had Tri Delt up to the day before pref, but there was just something off. They were nice, but I felt like they just kept me around just because. The other houses were genuine, and treated me like any other girl, which they should. There ARE a lot of Texas girls though!
