DG came back after the hazing scandal taking pretty girls with lots of talent! I know MU golfers, incredible artists, and cheerleaders in this house. I would say they are more well rounded because they have different girls that bring more uniqueness to the chapter. However, I do love my aphis as well! They may not be focused on academics, but they excel with philanthropy and Greek competitions! They place fairly often in Greek week. Both houses are great lower mid tier choices.

DG has turned into a weird, random house. Some cute girls, a lot of chubby, somewhat homely girls who look like ChiOs and then just seriously weird as "F" girls you know were legacies who were dropped by EVERY other house. Not to mention, their STL & KC alums could do their homework a little better - they took some of the biggest $luts from big STL & KC high schools that houses like PiPhi, GPhi, TriDelt, Kappa, etc. cut immediately!

Don't come to a gossip website to look for validation when making a decision for yourself. You need to be making a decision to be on a sorority based upon if YOU feel like YOU will fit in with the house. Not if someone on this website, myself included, tells you to join/not to join because of xyz.
Every house has valedictorians. Every house has girls who like to party. I'm tired of people trying to throw one house under the bus over another for stereotypes that are just so ridiculous. In a house of 200+ women, you will find your niche of girls who will be your party friends, your bridesmaids, your friends to call when you need to talk, and so on. Implying that you couldn't see yourself in one chapter over the other when there's so many women in one chapter is just crazy.
My chapter is similar, but very different than what it was when I joined. EVERY house has stepped up grades and what they are looking for. EVERY house can be more exclusive in the girls they choose.
So, like I said -- join the house that you feel is a good fit for you. And don't act like you are entitled to anything -- COB is even more exclusive for rush. I know for a fact that when APhi COBs they are looking for grades and eagerness to be involved, as well as a good image -- not to be confused with looks.

Alpha Phi seems somewhat one-dimensional. Pretty girls who like to party and can dance. While DG isn't as easy to categorize. I know DGs who were cheerleaders and some who were elected to student government and some who just had good grades. I actually would compare them more to Kappa, except without the chip on the shoulder that Kappa seems to have.
