now we know

by:

There is someone on this website who virtually guaranteed that if you "maximize your options" and list all of the houses you went to on pref day that your are guaranteed to get a bid. I don't know what her problem is, but she is single-handedly responsible for some of the most devastatingly painful situations imaginable. We now know that many girls don't get a bid even if they maximize their options. We now know that she willingly misled hundreds of women and that she didn't know what she was talking about. what possesses someone to do this? Is it to feel important? Is it for some sort of sick revenge? I really don't understand, but I know she is responsible for lots of broken hearts this morning. Shame on her. She also will give this about 29 thumbs down, so she has that going for her, too.

A lot of us knew the truth and tried to warn a lot of you before this false rumor could gain traction. I'm sorry that anyone believed her and I'm more sorry that anyone had their hopes riled up, only to have them dashed.

Are there any girls on here saying they didn't get a bid, but maximized?

By: I
by: Mmhm

Several are claiming that's what happened and insisting they maximized their options.

No they aren't. It's just this crazy troll who's coming here to lie about this stuff for whatever motive.

That's why I said they were "claiming" it happened. We have no way to know for sure if it's true or not.

A bid is never guaranteed, EVER. Though it is highly unlikely you won't recieve a bid if you maximize your options it's still possible. Honestly I don't feel bad though, You were the ones stupid enough to listen to the advice given on this joke of a page in the first place! If you had questions you should've asked ur recruitment consoler.

There are people whose job it is to just console PNMs? I didn't know.

According to report from the computer system used, there were no PNM's who were dropped that maximized their preference options by listing all the chapters they attended matched. Only PNM's who didn't list all options were not matched.

If a PNM really did maximize, I would highly suggest calling the Panhellenic advisor and have them review what was input for the PNM.

Exactly. I've seen the numbers for this year now and am also well-versed in RFM. Whoever is making these ridiculous posts is a troll, or someone not telling the truth about whether they maximized their options. It's sad that some former PNM or mom is so unbalanced that she feels the need to come here and lie. The truth is that RFM works.

Obviously "we" (your multiple personalities maybe?) don't know anything. Lots of people have access to the numbers. People like advisers and others involved in recruitment and the bid matching process. Obviously not people like you. All of this information is available to those who are authorized to see it by logging into Campus Director. No one is at liberty to release all the numbers, but I can tell everyone with 100% alacrity that no one - NOT A SINGLE PNM - was released if she maximized her options at preference. Here are the basic facts on that: Of the total number of PNMs who did not receive bids, 9.7% were released by all chapters prior to preference. The remaining 90.3% decided to drop out of recruitment when they still had at least one chapter remaining OR did not maximize their options after preference. Zero percent of those who maximized their options after preference went bidless.

You are the one who needs to stop this nonsense right now. I understand your bitter disappointment. Perhaps you should speak to a mental health professional at this point. If you are an angry mom, then you have to accept the fact that your daughter did not maximize her options and is not telling you the truth about that.

I abhor you and absolutely resent your calling me a liar. I maximized my options every day and I did not receive a bid. And I am not the only one. Why do you persist? Why must you keep lying and make others feel bad?

If a house doesn't want you on their bid list, they won't make an addition for you. Plain and simple.

You obviously have no comprehension of how bid lists are put together and how RFM works. If a house invites a PNM to preference, then she must be on their bid list (with the very rare exception of when something so crazy happens that they need to not only get their headquarters and Panhellenic to sign off on it. This obviously didn't happen as it's a big deal.)

Since last spring there have been multiple posts directed to PMs to NOT believe what they read on this website. I am sorry that "Sad" chose to do so rather than rely on the advice of her Pi Chi. FYI - maximizing your options applies to EVERY DAY, not just pref day.

By: Agree with "me"
by: Well duh .....

But if someone refuses to attend a social or won't lrank all chapters at the end of the day then she gets thrown out of recruitment before preference. We're talking about preference only here and some troll keeps making things up.

The Pi Chis tell them that if they maximize their choices they will get a bid. Sorry if you have misinformation.

But I could swear I read here not that long ago a post from someone claiming to be a Pi Chi who had to tell a girl she was bidless after pref despite maximizing her options.

I was a PiChi this year and it was absolutely heartbreaking to see girls who thought they would wind up in a house be told that there wasn't a spot for them in our system. And when it comes to "maximizing your options," this stupid website is the only place I have ever heard that term. I spent some time this evening reading some of the threads and I am so sad that PNMs were so terribly misled. Who does something like that anyway?

You can maximize your options and still get cut from all of the houses. There is NO guarantee you get a bid if you go through recruitment. There's a really good chance, but being Greek is a privilege, not a right. No house is forced to take girls they don't want on their bid list. It's that simple. Down-vote me if you want or lie more about this RFM system you claim to know inside and out. The fact is you're wrong and you lied to people.
