fools who dropped

by: Upperclass

Girls, shame on those who dropped because you did not like who was left on your list! Reminder no guarantee for COB. Sorry for those cut because of GRADES. The do matter! Congratulations to those that listed all options.

This is rude.... I dropped because I realized I couldn't afford the houses I had left. Sorry?

Cost of the houses doesn't vary much. That's bs.

Even 500 dollars more or less is actually a big deal to many people, you know. A lot of girls have to pay the entirety of their dues on their own, aka, their parents don't pay it like yours probably do. Therefore, if a girl is short even by a small amount, that house may be out of price range. So yes, it's certainly conceivable the houses she ended with were out of her price range. Not everyone's as privileged as you, so believe it or not some of us actually did have to pay attention during the financial discussions when going through receuitment.

If $500 is a big deal, you don't belong in a sorority because all the extras weren't included in some of the costs and of course the costs go up. I don't believe for a minute someone dropped out over $500. They dropped out because a house they felt wasn't good enough for them cost $500 more.

I don't sympathize with girls who drop because the houses they have left don't fit their desired tier. However, there are other reasons girls drop.
1. Overwhelmed by recruitment in general. To someone who is unfamiliar with Greek Life recruitment can be a big surprise and is much more stressful/consuming than many PNM's assume
2. Maybe they genuinely didn't connect with the girls in the remaining houses, irregardless of tiers
3. The songs/doorchants/coordination(conformity) scare a lot of girls
4. Dropped by most houses because of grades and want to improve then give it another shot
5. Don't realize how time consuming Greek life can be.

The list goes on. Don't be so quick to judge girls who drop. If a girl gets towards the end and realizes she wouldn't be excited to open her bid card I don't blame her for dropping especially if it gives a girl who will be overjoyed an opportunity to pledge.

Irregardless is substandard. It is a word used by people who don't know any better. So just keep making a fool of yourself.

It's true, everyone drops for different reasons. Some just realize that it isn't for them, or they think they are too good for their remaining houses. That's just sad considering there are 300 plus girls in every house and you can't possibly learn enough in the short time you visit to get to know them. However, if you can't afford to be greek then why spend $300 to go through recruitment knowing you can't join?
